My husband and I are visiting from the US. He fell and bloodied his arm pretty good. We went to the urgent care at Wellington Hospital and he received excellent care. There was no wait. He was assisted by a considerate nurse and doctor. The care could not have been more professional. The nurse explained that they are new, and word is still getting out. For urgent care, we could not have been more pleased.
My mother in law was submitted to this hospital for heart x-ray first impression was great from start to finish and handover from staff to staff was great. she didn't understand a world of English so had translate and doctor come and explained the procedure in detail before she went in. food is great parking hard to find. staff friendly and very clean all rooms have own tv and the 2 nurses never left our site and aftercare for 2hours was great. Everyone involved in my procedure was excellent - very efficient and very caring. The nursing staff on my ward were all pleasant, but not all of them showed empathy. A particularly good nurse was Annette Antoine - she looked after me very well indeed. There were mistakes in the meals - not the fault of the young man who brought me my food. I kept being brought both what I had ordered and some additional dishes. One of them was a plate of grapefruit and oranges - but I never eat grapefruit, because I'm on statins!
The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The physician staff, anesthesiologist and plastic surgeon communicated all steps along the way and ensured I had understanding of what was happening and felt comfortable. After the surgery, the staff in the outpatient wing of St. Clare's checked on me regularly and provided all of the support I needed. I come from the states and was unsure what to expect. I have been impressed by the level of service I received here. The only recommendation for improvement would be a better description of after care and expectations. Perhaps I received one just prior to the anesthesia, but I could not remember the details and had to reach out and call later.
